Neighborhood Notes

The Les Schwab Best of the West – Oregon’s first high school football triple-header – jump starts the 2008 prep season September 6  at PGE Park. This inaugural event features six of the Pacific Northwest’s top football programs including: Lake Oswego, Central Catholic, nationally- ranked Sheldon (Eugene), Juneau-Douglas (AK), Bellevue (WA) and nationally-ranked Skyline (WA).
 
Fans can expect to see future Division I prospects playing in unprecedented early season match-ups and watch two of the Pacific Northwest’s best teams as Oregon’s defending 6A state-champion Sheldon takes on Washington’s defending 3A state-champion Skyline. Both teams have been ranked in ESPN’s preseason high school rankings (Skyline #24 and Sheldon #50).
 
Game Schedule:

Game 1 – 3:30 p.m.
Lake Oswego Lakers vs. Juneau-Douglas Crimson Tide (Juneau, AK)

Game 2 – 6:00 p.m. (or 10 minutes after Game #1)
Central Catholic Rams vs. Bellevue Wolverines (Bellevue, WA)

Game 3 – 8:00 p.m. (or 10 minutes after Game #2)
Sheldon Irish vs. Skyline Spartans (Sammamish, WA)
 
Tickets for the game are available at the PGE Park box office or at any Ticketmaster outlet. They can also be found online at www.lesschwabbestofthewest.com. Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $6 for students (age 4-18) and seniors (65+). Each ticket is good for all three games.
 
These are projected to be a very competitive evening and an exciting way to kickoff the 2008 football season Saturday, September 6th at PGE Park.
