Ignite Portland 4 Submissions Open!

Are you ready? Ignite Portland 4 going to happen on Thursday, November 13 at the Bagdad Theater , and we need your talk ideas! An Ignite talk is 20 slides that appear for 15 seconds each, for a total of 5 minutes. Use those minutes to tell a story, fix a problem, make us laugh, or cry. In short, share your burning ideas. BroadArts Theatre , Portland's award-wining, progressive musical theater company is creating Portland's future and they need your help... What? Tables are available on a sliding scale for organizations who would like to play a role in one or all of five upcoming themed, interactive community salons. The BroadArts Visionary Salons will be filled with discussions, presentations, and theatrics all working to bring together our rich community of local leaders, activists and visionaries in order to advocate for the future we want for Portland! Why? Two years ago, BroadArts received a grant from the City of Portland's VisionPDX project to involve and engage more than the 'usual suspects' in creating a thoughtful and inclusive plan for all residents. Tired of the kids having all the fun? For all you "creatives" out there (and the term is used broadly, folks) on July 26, 10 am - 3 pm, the Portland creative community will be hosting cre8camp at souk . It's all part of the re-launch of the Creative Conference on September 6th. Description follows:
"Welcome to the un-conference. Forget top-down topics and passive listening. At cre8camp, we start with a blank schedule, some breakout rooms and time. You, the participants, decide what the topics are, and then get to it!
Each attendee creates, leads and participates in the discussions. Nothing creative is off limits. Are you with us?"

From PNCA ... pdXPLORE is an interactive multi-media exhibit and symposia exploring Portland’s future. Are we ready for the changes coming to Portland in this new century? What shape will our city take over the next 50 or 100 years? What is essential about Portland? What do Portlanders believe in, and what is our DNA ? What are the fundamental urban patterns and design principles at work here? All events are at PNCA , 1241 NW Johnson. Free and open to the public.
