Large water main break shuts down portion of NW Hoyt Street

At approximately 8:30 a.m. this morning a 12 inch main ruptured under NW Hoyt Street between NW 3rd and 4th avenues, spilling a significant amount of water onto the roadway. The cause of the rupture is unknown at this time.The Portland Water Bureau immediately sent an emergency crew out to assess the situation and shut the main down.
