Smear Campaign in the Pearl

by pearlgirl

Neighborhood residents and employees have embarked on a bit of a smear campaign: everyone is searching for the simple sandwich. Suggest all you want—I've tried, but you will not be able to provide a sandwich option that fits the bill.

The fact is that the current options do not meet the requirements of the people who live and work here. This elusive beast, the humble sandwich, is described as being basic, cheap, fresh, substantial, and within walking distance. So, keep your brie, arugula, and other pre-made or made-to-order culinary masterpieces—the people want meat, cheese, and bread. And they want it for $6 or less.

If you're one of the crust crusaders, you may find what you're looking for at Cafe Rocks in the Pearl Design Center. This locally-owned sandwich shop serves up options that sandwich seekers have been craving. Build your own sandwich—$5.95 each!!!

Meat Choices

smoked turkey, roasted turkey, roast beef, ham, salami, pastrami, chicken salad

Cheese Choices

cheddar, swiss, smouked gouda, pepper jack, havarti, provolone

Bread Choices

hoagie roll, croissant, scallion roll, marbled rye, whole wheat

No worries, Cafe Rocks also has condiments and toppings galore. Sides (House made chips, sweet cabbage slaw, white bean and fennel salad, and red potato salad) are available for an additional dollar. And, Cafe Rocks serves salads too!

Cafe Rocks has one goal: the best quality for the best price. And, they also offer free downtown delivery on orders of $60 or more.

We'd love your feedback on Cafe Rocks. It ain't fancy, but does it end the smear campaign?

Crust crusaders: Are you satisfied?

The open hours don't work for me but I think it's great that area has more food options. Looks like it would be a good event space for a medium/large group.

LOVE IT! But why the super high delivery price???? Not everyone wants to cater for the entire office! I think a $20 charge within walking distance charge would be better! Still, I'm looking forward to a great sandwich and red potato salad!
