Dwindling fish in Tanner Springs Park?

by shooter

It seems that mother nature has done what Portland Parks couldn't, reduce or eliminate the fish living in Tanner Springs Park. Pat Lydon from the Pinnacle sent us these pictures of an osprey perched on The Lexis. Pat says he's watched it dive down into Tanner, presumably to gather food, and then go back to the Lexis. These pictures are from April 13, however, the osprey hasn't been seen for several days. Maybe that's because there are no more fish in Tanner. Pat says there is still one, but you have to wonder how long it will last.

Thanks to Pat for sharing the info and pictures!

This is so very funny. My partner and I have visited Tanner Springs for years now, and wondered what was happening to the little fish! Great Post!

Ah, New York City's Central Park may have its urban Red Tail Hawk, "Pale Male", but we have our Tanner Springs Osprey... Awesome! Perhps, we should propose nest boxes atop the Metropolitan.
