Urban Hiking and Aerial Views

by nancy
When the Tram first opened we couldn't get enough of it. It was a multi-modal day trip that involved packing a lunch and bringing binoculars. We'd catch the streetcar out into the wilds of South Waterfront, take the tram up to OHSU, explore the gardens and atriums and decks that seem to hang off the edge of the hill. And then head to the river on our way back. Trust me, we had the t-shirt.

This Saturday the Ten Toe Express folks have Tram Fever as well, and they're combining a free tram ride with a hike up to Council Crest via the Marquam Nature Park. Meet at 9:00 AM at the South Waterfront tram stop. And bring snacks and water (and binoculars) for the kiddos since the hike is 4 miles total, or about 8,000 steps. The round trip is estimated to take 2.5 hours.
