Hi Neighbors,
The holidays are here! Get out and enjoy the 2,500 strands of lights throughout the Pearl District and see the grand holiday tree in Jamison Square. Courtesy of Hoyt Street Yards Community Association . Thank you! There are also new "snowflake lights" at intersection corners. Neighbors are decorating their decks and handsomely lit trees are appearing in windows around the Pearl. (It's ok to look for once! ha ha!!!) Our local merchants have extended holiday hours and stores are overflowing with beautiful gifts for yourself, family & friends. Don't forget our local restaurants when planning your holiday parties. Catering, private rooms, special menus...it's all here in The Pearl.
The Pearl Pulse has a new look and the latest issue is available now. Kudos to the Pearl District Business Association on putting this together for the neighborhood. :-)

Mail theft at Marshall Wells
by pearlgirl
There was a break in last night between 2:25 am and 2:35 am in the main lobby of Marshall Wells Lofts. The mailboxes were pried open and the suspects were caught on video leaving with an unknown quantity of mail, However there was a large amount of mail left behind. The two suspects appeared to be in their late 20s or early 30s. One is a male Caucasian with medium build and dark hair. He was wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants and carrying a black duffel bag. The other suspect is a female Caucasian with a slight build. She was wearing a pink wide brim hat, white sweatshirt and dark pants.
The police came out and filed a report. The mail that was left has been collected and locked up in the Multi-Services Office until it can be handed over to the post office on Monday.

Holidays in the Pearl
by pearlgirl
Hi there Neighbors,
The holidays have arrived. Starbucks broke out the holiday cups over two weeks ago and now the twinkly evidence of the holiday season is slowly being turned on throughout the neighborhood. With the change in season is an unfortunate change in crime. As our lives become a whirl of parties, presents and people this gives more opportunity for criminals to catch us unaware and thus, as our level of merriment increases so does the level of neighborhood crime.
On Saturday, December 4, the Livability & Public Safety Committee will meet in front of North Park Lofts (300 NW 8th) at 10:45am to do a neighborhood car prowl. They will be putting flyers on cars throughout the neighborhood that have valuables visible from outside. For a car prowler, this could be as little as change in the console! This educational undertaking could save you or someone you love from having a broken window and stolen valuables. If you have an hour to spare, please
