Tai Chi & Qigong classes at Portland Center Stage

by pearlgirl
Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient Chinese martial art known for its slow motion, flowing postures. Like a wise tale, it is passed from generation to generation, heard through feeling, told by being, and refined by those who carry on the tradition. Qigong is breath exercise.

Regular Tai Chi and Qigong practice can improve balance, increase circulation, build strength, enhance the spirit, and generally improve overall health and vitality.

What’s the difference between Tai Chi and Qigong?

Simply put, Qigong is a health and longevity practice and Tai Chi Chuan is a martial art.

Do I need to practice with a group?

Practiced daily all over the world by everyday people, Tai Chi is both a solitary and community activity. Think of it like playing music—you can only get so good playing alone.

If you're interested in learning more about Tai Chi or Qigong, PDX Tai Chi is offering classes at Portland Center Stage. You can join anytime, just show up and participate.
