Neighborhood Notes

We'd like to welcome Lisa Hylton to Willamette University and to the Pearl District. Here's a little info about Lisa. Be sure to say hello if you're at WU!

Lisa Hylton is the Recruiter-Admission Counselor for the Willamette MBA for Professionals at both the Portland Center and the Salem Campus. She is responsible for recruiting and recognizing qualified applicants for the MBA for Professionals program, helping them through the application process, and assisting them all the way through graduation.

Lisa began her career in non profit management as the General Manager of the Eugene Concert Choir, a resident company of the Hult Center for the Performing Arts in Eugene, Oregon. She received her Master’s of Music in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey in 1997 Putting her newly acquired knowledge in management
together with her passion for music proved to be the perfect synthesis. After serving the Choir, Lisa took a position as Business Development Officer for Oregon Community Credit Union.

Lisa resided in New York City to pursue a singing career prior to earning her MBA at Willamette University. This resulted in 5 exciting years of discovering her operatic voice, working with inspiring coaches and voice teachers, performing arias and scenes from operas by Mozart, Puccini, Verdi and more. Although inspiring, she was left with about $5 in her pocket!

While living in Eugene Lisa was actively involved with Relay For Life, Project Homeless Connect, and the United Way’s Day of Caring. Lisa was recently married in May of 2006 and she and her husband, Clarke, are looking forward to settling down in the Portland area and meeting new friends.
