Developer Paul Schlesinger Gets It, Too

by nancy
My goodness, who knew that reading the Oregonian over lunch would result in two quotes about the importance of families in Central Portland?

Here's an excerpt from an Oregonian interview with Paul Schlesinger, recently of Portland's Planning Commission and the Design Commission.

Q. (Anna Griffin)
What are specific things we could be doing to address the big problems facing Portland?

A. (Paul Schlesinger)
Both in public and private, we are losing multimember families, working-class families; they need a three- to four-bedroom condo or apartment. These things do get built in other cities. Let's find a way to build that type of unit so that the person that is looking at 'Do I stay in the core or do I move out?' has something to look at here. So there's a living option in the core area for a family that's affordable.
