by pearlgirl2008 Classic Wines Auction Winemaker Dinner Series Pairs Chefs and Vintners for Gourmet Dining Adventure
Mix and mingle with some of the most respected winemakers from Oregon, Washington and California, as well as Portland’s hottest chefs at the 2008 Classic Wines Auction Winemaker Dinner series. This annual event features 33 Portland-area restaurants and 59 wineries. Each participating restaurant will prepare a gourmet meal paired with wines from one or two different wineries with all proceeds going to charities benefiting families and children in Portland and Southwest Washington. The dinners begin at 6:30 p.m. on the evenings of February 26, 27, and 28, 2008 and lead up to the 2008 Classic Wines Auction Gala on Saturday, March 1, 2008.
Helping Children and Families
The Classic Wines Auction board has selected five local charities to benefit from the 2008 auction and expanded series of events: Friends of the Children – Portland, Metropolitan Family Service, New Avenues for Youth, Trillium Family Services and YWCA Clark County. “Watching our community raise funds for programs that will impact children and families is the most memorable part of the annual auction,” said executive director Heather Martin. Classic Wines Auction, Inc. has raised more than $16.4 million since its inception in 1982.
33 Restaurants. 59 Winemakers. 3 Memorable Evenings.
Reservations are now being accepted online for the winemaker dinners. Each dinner offers a varied number of seats depending on the venue and tickets are $150 per person, including dinner, wine and gratuity. For more information, please call 503-972-0194.
