New chef at Vino Paradiso
by pearlgirl
Ian Duncan -- former Sous Chef at Lovely Hula Hands and Line Chef at ClarkLewis -- has been named the new chef at Vino Paradiso. Not only does the wine bar have a new chef, they have a new menu.
On June 3rd at 6 p.m., Vino Paradiso will host a winemakers dinner with Viento Winery. Enjoy a 4 course, 5 wine dinner with winemaker Rich Cushman. $65 per person. Reservations required.
Viento - About the winery
"{Winemaker Rich] Cushman makes mostly wines from Eastern Washington fruit. His syrahs are superb, and he's one of the few making good domestic sangiovese. And perhaps the most consistently great viognier I've ever had is from Viento."
- Robert Mayfield, Statesman-Journal, 4/21/05.
Viento wines are made in Hood River, Oregon by Rich Cushman, Hood River native and Oregon winemaker for over twenty years. Our family works together to make these limited production wines in space leased from Pheasant Valley Winery.
All of our wines are carefully crafted to emphasize balance, fruit character and the vineyard. Grapes are sourced from several exceptional vineyards in the Columbia Valley and Gorge that are growing varieties beyond the ordinary. The name Viento, Spanish for “wind”, was chosen to reflect the constant vibrancy of the wind in the Columbia River Gorge. The label reflects the creation and the movement of the wind and the rich color of exceptional wines. The label artwork is from Albrecht Durer’s "The Holy Trinity," 1511.
