Historic Landmarks Commission Updates Skidmore/Old Town Building Guidelines

The Historic Landmarks Commission is close to completing an update to the building guidelines for the Skidmore/Old Town Historic District. This story from the Daily Journal of Commerce describes the general thinking of the Commission and gives a hint as to how the guidelines will be changing.
What is not mentioned is neighborhood involvement/input. I'm curious if or how much the neighborhood was involved in this process. I'm glad the Commission is updating the guidelines, making them clearer and stronger, but input from the neighborhood is extremely important.
If someone in Old Town knows or participated, tell us about the process and experience.
