Macy's Holiday Parade

Macy's announced its holiday parade planned for Friday, Nov. 28 in Portland, will follow a new route.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 8:45 a.m. at Lincoln High School, travel north on Southwest 14th Avenue, east on Southwest Alder Street, past the soon-to-be re-opened Downtown Portland store, south on Southwest Second Avenue and west up Taylor Street to an ending point near Lincoln High.

New floats this year include a dinosaur, rocking horse, Callie the Caterpillar and the Candyland Express. After the parade, Santa will arrive at the lower level of the downtown store's Santaland, which will be open for photos through Dec. 24.

Isn't the holiday Parade on Nov 28th (the day after Thanksgiving) this year, 2008. November 23rd is a Sunday this year.. Last year Nov 23 was the Friday after Thanksgiving.. THink you might have the wrong date.

Hi Sharon, Thanks for pointing out the incorrect date. You're absolutely right: the event is on 11/28. Changed it. :-)
