Story Time and Open Play @ Isobel's Clubhouse 11/21

IMG_0411 Join us on 11/21 at 9:30 for Story Time and Open Play.  What will we do?  As part of open play, kids can dress up in costumes, play with toys, listen to music, play games or color with crayons. We'll also read stories, and you're welcome to bring a book to share. What should I bring?   We have fun toys and books, and you're always welcome to bring something to share. And please bring your fun ideas for group songs and games. Details  This event begins at 9:30. Clean up will start at 11:15 and the event will end at 11:30.  Like all events at the Clubhouse, this is a parent/caregiver and child event. A parent or caregiver will need to be with the child at all times.  There is no cost for this event, and donations are gladly accepted. As our space is limited, the activity is limited to a maximum of 10 children and their adults.   Please remember to use the bathroom before you come to the Clubhouse, as we don't h

Baby Loves Disco Pajama Party

baby loves disco Hello mamas & papas! It is with great jumping joy that we welcome the month of November with our first ever PAJAMA PARTY in Baby Loves Disco-land! That's right, we celebrate the end of daylight savings time and welcome the shorter days of light and cooler temperatures with an all-out pajama wearing dance party for the whole family. So, wake up, brush your teeth, stay in your jammies and roll into the club where we will have lots of dancing and healthy snacks.... even a pair of pajamas to give away to the sleepiest jumping jammie dancer of the whole party! We'll also be playing tracks from our baby loves hip hop cd, released this past spring - a story told through both songs and words about a cool group of dinosaur kids who start a band, calling themselves the "dino 5"! Noon to 3pm.

Harvest – No School Day Art Workshop!

monkey In this two-day no-school workshop, youth artists will create art using themes of fall. Art projects will include candle making, pastel drawings and more! Art projects will include print making and more! All art materials are included in this price, as well as a morning snack that is offered at 10:30am. Participants should bring a healthy sack lunch and a water bottle. Weather permitting, youth artists have a 30 minute supervised play time at a neighbor playground after lunch. The studio also offers the option of 3-5pm aftercare for those who need longer days, for an extra $20 per day. An afternoon healthy snack will be provided by the studio for those staying in aftercare. Please contact the studio to register! Ages 6-12.

Macy's Holiday Parade

babbo261 Macy's announced its holiday parade planned for Friday, Nov. 28 in Portland, will follow a new route. The parade is scheduled to begin at 8:45 a.m. at Lincoln High School, travel north on Southwest 14th Avenue, east on Southwest Alder Street, past the soon-to-be re-opened Downtown Portland store, south on Southwest Second Avenue and west up Taylor Street to an ending point near Lincoln High. New floats this year include a dinosaur, rocking horse, Callie the Caterpillar and the Candyland Express. After the parade, Santa will arrive at the lower level of the downtown store's Santaland , which will be open for photos through Dec. 24.

CPF serves families that live, work, learn and play in Downtown, Central East Side, Northwest Portland, Old Town Chinatown, South Waterfront and The Pearl by developing programs that build community and an advocacy voice for families. This group is a collaborative effort between parents, grandparents, children, business owners and caring neighbors.
