Fall is in the air. We've been doing leaf rubbings at Isobel's Clubhouse , watching the tips of the trees along Everett turn red, and hearing geese headed south as we bike to school in the morning. What better time to tour Hoyt Arboretum with kids and a trained naturalist and talk about the seasons? Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) naturalists lead FREE guided walks at Hoyt Arboretum on the first Saturday of every month through November. The walks begin at 10 a.m. and last approximately 1-1/2 hours. They are appropriate for adults and families. Naturalists will show participants interesting facts about trees, provide historical information about the Arboretum, and discuss any changes foreseen in its future. Meet at the Hoyt Arboretum Visitor Center at 4000 SW Fairview Boulevard. The tours are drops-in; no advance registration is required. For more information, call PP&R Environmental Education at 503.823.3601. 2 The guided tree tour
