After numerous delays and much controversy, Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) broke ground on its newest clinic and regional service center. The new building will include 7000 square feet of clinics, regional offices, as well as 5000 square feet of retail space. The 40,000 square foot building will unite the entire administrative staff, currently divided between two buildings, under one roof. Announcing Indoor Active Play
by nancy
Families that live, work, learn and play in central Portland can enjoy three additional options for indoor active play this fall and winter. We have three generous donors to thank for making this happen; Cami Curtis Performing Art Center , Perfectly Pearl Modern Bridal Event , and Zimmerman Community Center . These community based businesses all understand that families need a safe, warm, dry place to play when the weather's bad. Cami Curtis Performing Art Center is donating the use of one of their dance studios. They also offer many great classes for kids, taught by talented teachers in this beautiful space. For pictures and more info, please visit www.camicurtis.com Perfectly Pearl Modern Bridal Event raised funds in Spring 2008 to purchase Indoor Active Play. There are still funds left from this donation, and they're again being used to purchase time at Pearl Court Activity Center. Zimmerman Community Center is purchasing time at Pearl Court Activity Ce

Kidical Mass Frequently Asked Questions
by nancy
Lots of folks are curious about Kidical Mass . Here are Bicycle Transportation Alliance 's answers to frequently asked questions: Is this just like Critical Mass but with kids? Absolutely not. We are a family friendly law-abiding ride. Our purpose is to teach kids, parents and caregivers safety skills and provide a ride in which to practice them. We are creating awareness for the growing presence of kids and families on bikes and the need for all road users to respect other users of the road. We are also bringing together families who bike in an effort to provide a positive community experience that will show children how much fun riding your bike can be! Are we required to have a parade permit to ride in KM? No. We are riding as a group, following all traffic laws and are not required to have a permit since we are not purposefully stopping traffic or blocking traffic. It's true we may be slow as snails and therefore slow traffic, but bikes are allowed to ri

Love in the City » Looking for Love in All the Right Places
by Love in the City
I hope you all had a lovely three-day weekend. I did. But then again, I began my holiday with an attractive doctor who is looking for love. We met for a consultation at another one of my favorite coffee shops . Not a bad way to start the weekend, eh?Back to the task at hand—your dating system! Last week, you wrote down your dating history. Let’s take a look at your homework assignment. What did you find?
Did you do your homework? This was your assignment... Take some time and jot down some notes on what has worked, or not worked for you, in past relationships. Look for common themes, patterns and attractions to those intimate partners. Then, take some time and think about the roadblocks standing between you and a successful relationship.
Be a voyeur in your own life: think about your story as if it were someone else's. I recommend writing your dating history and then setting it aside. Next, think about the strongest positive and n
