For seven years, Chris and Theresa Therrien owned and operated the Silver Moon Crêperie in their adopted hometown of Dover, N.H. But in 2013, they decided to shutter it—not because it wasn’t successful (it was), but because of the snow: feet upon feet of snow during long East Coast winters. All they had to do next was to find a place to unshutter it. After exploring the sunnier climes of Austin, Tex., and Charleston, S.C., the couple visited Portland, fell in love with it, and set to work rebuilding their menu. In all, the Therriens make about 50 sweet and savory crêpes (peanut butter and banana, egg and swiss, ham and egg, fresh apples, honey and brie), which you can pair with five $5 glasses of wine, one can of hoppy craft beer or three taps dedicated to local hard ciders.
