Lents Farmers' Market Moving to Fridays in 2012 Season

At the start of the 2012 season on June 15, the Lents Farmers’ Market will be held on Fridays from 3 to 8 p.m. instead of Sunday mornings. The market will still serve the same purpose, but the new arrangement will let organizers try out more exciting programming.

“We’re not ‘revisioning,’ per se,” says East Portland neighborhood activist Cora Potter. “The goals of the market will remain—which is to bring fresh, affordable food to the area and support immigrant farmers and vendors. But we are delving deep into the possibilities that a Friday market has (beer garden, a little more ruckus music, better integration with business district activities) from an operations and marketing standpoint.”
