July 3 Interdependence Day Celebration Honors Community Relationships

Announcing the second annual Interdependence Day Celebration at St. David of Wales Episcopal Church, Saturday, July 3 from 11:00-3:00 on the church grounds: 2800 SE Harrison Street in Portland.

There's so much to enjoy! Live music, food from a variety of local vendors, and a good old-fashioned church rummage sale in the parish hall. Plant a spiraling vegetable garden on the grounds, and join in a rain barrel workshop with the Southeast Portland Tool Library. Best of all, hang out with your neighbors!

Meet representatives from City Repair, the Zen Community of Oregon, Dances for Universal Peace, and the Portland Ukulele Association. Learn about Rose City Nonviolent Communications, and the two on-site children’s facilities: the Eastside Family Cooperative and Hands-on Art & Play Preschool. Visit the Tool Library during their open hours and become a member, or participate in a creative project with our Artist-in-residence LeRoy Goertz.

You’ll hear great music from Maggie’s Parlour, an Irish-country group; singer-songwriter Mark Daniel; Ukulele whiz Marianne Brogan; and indie rock group Alpha Leonis.

Then there's the Music Studio on Harrison Hill, an innovative and rapidly-growing music cooperative music. Stop by the Music Studio table to sign up for lessons in violin, voice, percussion, piano, mandolin, and guitar. If you’re a musician looking for space to rehearse or teach lessons, you can find out more about those opportunities.

Didn’t know there was so much going on at St. David’s? Now’s your chance to get the skinny. This is your community. All are welcome at this free event.
