Community Work Group Forming for SE 122nd Pilot Study

Neighborhood Notes received the following information about an opportunity for East Portland neighbors to participate in the SE 122nd Pilot Study. Here's more from Portland's Bureau of Planning and Sustainability:

The City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability is conducting the SE 122nd Avenue Pilot Study—a Portland Plan pilot study exploring opportunities to create a more healthy, sustainable, and viable "20-minute neighborhood" along SE 122nd Avenue. Web link: www.portlandonline.com/bps/se122study.

The project, currently underway, is forming a Community Working Group (CWG) composed of representatives of affected neighborhood and business associations, representatives of the diverse interests in the community, and other at-large members. The CWG is expected to meet up to once a month to share information, act as liaisons to other community interests, and serve as a sounding board for project staff as the study proceeds.

Recruitment for the CWG began in July 2009—the deadline for applications has been extended to October 15, 2009. If you are interested in participating in this group, please complete and return the application by the October 15th deadline. Appointments to the committee will be made in late October. The application is attached and available on the project web site.

Please contact project staff Barry Manning or Julia Gisler for more information or with questions at 503-823-7700 or by email at: se122study@ci.portland.or.us.
