It's no secret that I love pie from Random Order Coffeehouse on Alberta. Who doesn't, right?!
This month, Random Order is offering a very special, limited edition Asian Pear Pie with Walnut Streusel. Like all its pies, the Asian Pear is hand-made from scratch and utilizes local ingredients. And, I'm pretty sure it's baked with love.
The fruit in the Asian Pear Pie was harvested by Portland Fruit Tree Project, an organization that empowers neighbors to share in the harvest and care of urban fruit trees—preventing waste, building community knowledge and resources, and creating sustainable, cost-free ways to obtain healthy, locally-grown food, and handed over to the Random Order bakers who turned it into ambrosia.
