On Friday, August 7, the 8th Annual Portland Twilight Criterium was held in the North Park Blocks. For those unfamiliar with a criterium: it's a bike race set on city streets and competitiors must complete as many laps as they can in a set time. It's typically very fast and exciting. This year's event delivered on both counts with aggressive racing and a few crashes.
A good crowd of Portland bike enthusiasts turned out to watch the professional cyclists zip around the North Park Blocks. If you've never been to a criterium, we hope these photos and video will wet your appetite for the 2010 event.

Rider 130 pushed it too far, his back tire slid out and he paid the price
