This morning, the final drawings for the changes to the "Made in Oregon" sign were posted on the Bureau of Development Services website. The Landmarks Commission hearing on these changes will be July 13 at 1:30 p.m. A staff report will be published ten days prior to the meeting.
The plans show the proposed changes to both the Made in Oregon Sign and the water tank, which currently reads "Old Town Portland's Historic District". "Made in Oregon" will be replaced with just "Oregon". The drawings indicate that the new letters will match the existing letters, the capital "O" will be 14 feet tall and the remaining letters will be 7 feet tall.
The water tank will be painted "to match the surrounding area" and a 6 ½ foot gold neon "O" will be installed on the east and west sides of the water tank. The preliminary water tank drawing had green paint behind the gold "O".

BDS has included an animation showing the illumination sequence for "Oregon" in the main sign.
