Here's a juicy tidbit: Homegrown Smoker, a vegan barbecue cart, will open today on NE Alberta (at 23rd Street).
Meatless barbecue?! If you're wondering how that's possible, take a gander at the opening day menu. Everything is vegan, including ribs, chorizo sandwiches and, yes, even the mac no cheese.
Homegrown Smoker expected to open at noon today, but plans have been changed to noon-ish:
This morning has been a rush & we're trying to get everything set up. Unfortunately, we're having some technical difficulties and probably won't be open at noon like we advertised. I guess some things just didn't work out. I'm not exactly sure when we'll be open, but I'm guessing that it won't be too late after 12.
