City Snaps: Zoobomb Pyle

Portland's newest piece of public art will be officially dedicated this afternoon at 4 p.m. The Zoobomb pyle at the corner of 13th Avenue and West Burnside is not only a nod to Portland's bike community, it's incredibly functional as well. When I stopped by the pyle this afternoon, artist Brian Borello was tinkering with the storage locker that comprises the base of the sculpture. Apparently, zoobombers will store helmets, a first aid kit and other necessities in the storage locker and 'pyle' the bikes on top.

Kudos to Borello, RACC and everyone who made this possible. It's truly a Portland landmark.
