City Snaps: Weekly Photo Roundup (April 3, 2009)

In Portland, we often take water for granted. With our bounty of rivers, streams, bubblers, reservoirs and, um, various forms of precipitation—water is a big part of our lives! But, it's also a subject of interest to photographers. Water adds a splashy element to image composition: reflection, motion, depth, color, calm, and tension. It can make the difference between a good image and a great one. In today's photo roundup, I've selected seven images that use water in a variety of compositions. Best of all, you don't need an umbrella to enjoy them!
