In my opinion, Last Thursday is one of the best representations of the Portland artist community. Most people show up and try to park anywhere on or near Alberta—bike or take the bus if you can. Once on Alberta, you are amidst artists setting up shop on the street, gallery shows, local businesses displaying local artists and co-operative studios. You never know what you'll find—or see.
Often, I start my art crawl at OFFICE PDX. I get a thrill of checking out the cool art and office supplies as well as the art. This month, they have a Polaroid Land Camera Group Show. I also suggest that you stop by Flight 64 and Guardino Gallery. Although I haven't been to HiiH Gallery or Appendix Space, they're both getting some good buzz—definitely check them out.
On the Street, I hope to find Amaren Colosi, a local photographer who plans on setting up and selling her work. I'm thinking I'll end my night at Cork, a bottle shop that will be showing the work of Allen Kinast.
Don't forget that the Alberta Art Hop is May 16th and needs your support—oh yeah, download a Last Thursday map here.

HiiH Gallery has beautiful handmade lamps in Alberta on last Thursday, and new square and round handmade lamps in the Pearl at my gallery, 925 Lovejoy, on first Thursday of May from 6-9. Join us either place, 6-9pm. z
It should be sunny and beautiful.
Come visit our end of the street!
Don't forget that Alberta has a laid back and very welcoming daily business to experience. There is a lot of creativity on this street!
Also Saturday, May 16th, Alberta Street has it's annual Art Hop. The street is blocked off with music and artists. Even a parade!
