Economic times are tough and Portlanders have been watching as some of their favorite, locally owned, small businesses have had to shut their doors. But here's your chance to do something about it. Just take your cue from the Humboldt neighborhood's Trebol Restaurant and In Other Words Books (IOWB) who, with the aid of Neighborhood Notes, have connected to help support one another.
For the price of drink and some Happy Hour grub you can make a difference in your neighborhood, supporting these Portland owned businesses, at an event that's sure to be a blast.
IOWB, the last non-profit, feminist bookstore in the country is in danger of closing if they don't reach their donations goal of $8000 by the end of February. Enter Trebol, whose owner/chef, Kenny Hill is hosting a Happy Hour, Wednesday January 28th with 10% of proceeds going to benefit IOWB.
With their extensive array of tequilas, specialty cocktails and scrumptious Oaxacan cuisine, this is sure to be one of the best and most satisfying donations you've ever made.
This event runs from 5pm-7:30pm with 10% of proceeds donated to IOWB.

Neighborhood Notes is really excited to launch 'Neighbors Helping Neighbors' Fundraisers. We're going to move this party around the city in all six Portland quadrants—partnering with a neighborhood business and non-profit in each. We cordially invite all Portland residents to attend these monthly fundraisers, whether it's in your part of town or across town—Portland really is better when we support each other.
This is the year when we call all help each other. We are all connected in this city! See you the 28th!
And, hopefully it is a lesson we'll carry forward to more prosperous times. See you on the 28th!
