Pampering
Ashiyu Co

John Condon and his sister Carolyn run this foot spa showroom that doubles as blissful soaking scene. John invented these affordable, cozy and portable Footopia spas that are perfect for one but can accommodate your friends as well. Filled with smooth stones and bubbly hot water- Ashiyu's spas take their inspiration from the soothing hot spring foot baths peppered throughout Japan. Not only can you buy one for your own home but John and Carolyn encourage folks to come in and have a soak in the showroom. Bring your friends, snacks and a bottle of wine for a party ($60 a group) that's sure to please or drop by during one of their first Fridays for live music and fresh art in their gallery. A balladeer will be on hand the day after Valentines Day for those who didn't get enough pampering with their sweetie.

A worldwide empire of natural handmade cosmetics is housed here and the scrummy feet treats they have in store will change your hooves back into the tantalizing toes they were meant to be. Freshly made concoctions (watch the expiration dates) such as the spicy and softening Volcano Foot Mask, Running to the Embassy (a minty pumice bar with shea butter to soften) and Lemony Flutter (great for cuticles on toes and hands) pair nicely with a treatment like Pied de Pepper (a cinnamon/clove lotion that you can feel your heels drink in.) Odiferous odors got you down? Feeling foul from a fungus? Try Lush's T for Toes a citrus and tea tree powder that kicks some serious bacterial bootie. Finish it all up with their sumptuous Fair Trade Foot Lotion- a slathering of this creamy mix of arnica, (for swelling) cocoa butter and mint then put your feet up and stay in for the night. You deserve it!
