Do you know that there are six neighborhoods that straddle East Burnside? Yep, these neighborhoods are lucky enough to have a foot firmly planted in Northeast and Southeast Portland:
- Kerns
- Laurelhurst
- Center
- Montavilla
- Hazelwood
- Glenfair
In the past, we had the option of listing these neighborhoods in only one quadrant. As you might suspect, this wasn't popular! So, we're happy to announce that we've made some changes and now these six neighborhoods are listed in both NE and SE Portland.
Although these neighborhoods are listed in two quadrants, they will share the same information. For example, you won't miss out on any information if you choose NE or SE Kerns. But, listing these neighborhoods in both quadrants will help neighbors locate their information on Neighborhood Notes more easily.
We've placed an asterisk by the name of each neighborhood that straddles East Burnside.

The Hazelwood and Glenfair neighborhoods should be included in the East quadrant, rather than NE or SE.
Thanks for your comment, Linda. When we launched our new web site in Dec 2009, we added East Portland as the 6th quadrant in our navigation [the compass on the top left]. If you visit the East Portland section of our site, you'll see that both Hazelwood and Glenfair reside there.
