SunEdison's tour promoting solar energy arrives today at Pioneer Square. The promotional tour offers exhibits that encourage the use of large-scale solar power. Interactive displays allow participants to explore at their own pace and provide a great introduction of solar energy to kids. The overlying message is that solar power is viable now. Stores such as Staples and Kohl's already use solar panels to reduce the amount of electricity they purchase. SunEdison, the largest solar energy services provider in North America, along with other solar energy companies sponsor the tour.
SunEdison doesn't sell the equipment; it sells the energy generated by equipment it installs and maintains at a site. This removes the upfront equipment costs for business or government agencies, and there is no disruption to existing service.
