The Beavers Moving to Lents? The Devil is in the Details

Based on the number of comments on our post about the Portland Beavers in Lents, there is a lot of interest in the idea of the Beavers moving to Lents. As you can guess, not everyone is happy about it. This article in the Tribune gives both sides of the story.

What's most important is that residents of Lents get involved with the neighborhood association and make sure your voice is heard. This is a big change for any neighborhood. At first glance it would appear to be a wonderful thing for Lents, but the devil is in the details. Get involved, understand what is being proposed, and express your opinion or concerns.

The only way to have a proposal like this work for the community is for the community to get involved and make sure its needs are met!

Go to the Lents Neighborhood Association website for more information.

The association has formed a subcommittee that meets every other Thursday. The next meeting is Aug. 21, 6PM at the Lents Boys & Girls Club, 9930 SE Harold St.

A survey will be mailed to the Lents neighborhood and a general meeting is planned for Sept 23, the location has yet to be determined.
