Adios D.F. and Taqueria Nueve

imgWe're sad to report that D.F. has closed. Food Dude reported the closure earlier this evening and it was also announced at the Bridgeport Condominium board meeting tonight. A quick walk to D.F. and the note in the window confirmed it all.

Taqueria Nueve, the east side eatery under the same ownership has also closed.

Adios. We'll miss you.

Sad, sad day. DF is... was my favorite spot in the Pearl. Best of luck to Stephen (the owner) in future endeavors.

If you figure out the reason for the doors closing, please post an update. I'm hoping they are just changing things up a bit and not closing for good... but thats probably wishful thinking.

But but but they appeared to be doing so well? I got my last take out there just the other night. What will I ever do without the green salsa. Dangit. I heart you df.

I hope they're just making some changes as well! I love both those spots

Unfortunately, the sign on the door makes it pretty clear that this is a permanent close. Taqueria Nueve was one of my favorites. I hope that food comes back some where some how.

Thanks, Shooter. I made it a point to take a look at the sign on the door this AM, and yes... it looks like they were evicted (for lack of a better word).

Such a shame that some other solution couldn't be worked out to keep one of the defining restaurants of the North Pearl.

Given that people got in way too far over their heads to get into a lot of those overpriced condos, expect a lot more of this sort of thing (closing restaurants) in the near future...

Sounds like a lot of folks are having a tough time coming up with the mortgage payment and then trying to pay other expenses (that are rapidly climbing), makes it tough to afford to eat out.
