Remembering Suzie
by pearlgirl
Suzie was a perfect dog - a wonderful, sweet-natured companion for us. Jax seems to really miss her too. She used to clean his eyes and ears on a regular basis. The five years we had with her were way too short. We miss her very much. -Sandy
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

Portland Food and Drink
by pearlgirl
Portland Food and Drink is a Portland blog that writes about the local restaurant scene. Yesterday, I featured a link to a post about a customer service issue at Fenouil. A Notes subscriber contacted me later in the day and told me that the link to the article was busted. After doing a little research, I discovered that the post had been deleted from Portland Food and Drink after Fenouil co-owner, Pascal Chareau issued an apology for the incident.
I apologize for the busted link, but I'm very happy that this issue has been handled in a gracious manner. Hats off to Pascal for being sensitive to the needs of his customers.

First Signs of Spring
by pearlgirlWho needs the Farmer's Almanac or a groundhog? When you see spring styles hit the window of Bella Moda , winter is in its last days. Maybe that's because the spring styles are so cute, we strap them on and forget all about the cold and gray days.
But then again, maybe Kathryn has the sole of a meteorologist. ;-)

Tea Time
by pearlgirl
The Tea Zone is mentioned in this article about Portland and its burgeoning tea culture.
I just browsed the Tea Zone's website and found plenty of "tea-sers" in their event schedule. From High Tea to classes, this shop has a lot brewing...

Team Blogging
by pearlgirl
I've been blogging solo for a while now, but I thought it might be fun to invite some friends to join me. The neighborhood changes so rapidly that a few pairs of eyes (and typing fingers!) added to the mix will certainly be an upgrade. Besides, it's always fun to mix things up and do something new.
So, a warm welcome to guest bloggers SHOOTER and SCOTT. :-)
