The TriMet-sponsored and NECN-operated Rider Advocates Program is unfortunately slated to end on September 30, 2009 due to the bad economy and TriMet's financial situation. Just received a reminder about the I-405 closure this weekend. Paving will close northbound lanes between the Fremont and Marquam bridges. Here are the details from ODOT: Friday night, Aug. 21, starting at 10 p.m. to Monday, Aug. 24, at 5 a.m. all northbound lanes on Interstate 405 will be closed between the Fremont and Marquam bridges. In March, we mentioned the I-405 repaving project, which will pave I-405 from the Marquam Bridge to the Fremont Bridge. Cars are great and convenient, but there's room for improvement. The carpool lane, for instance. There's plenty of room there, but what if I'm driving without a passenger?
