La Victoire d'Amour: A Valentine's Day Concert with the Wildwood Consort

Renaissance and Baroque Music

A Valentine's Day program of 18th century French music. Wildwood Consort will play music of Hotteterre, Naudot, Heudelinne and others, plus selections from the Clerambault cantata Orphée.

The Wildwood Consort, founded in 2008, takes its name from the Portland landmark near where many of its members live, work and perform. Conceived as a core continuo group joined by consort members representing all major instrument groups of the period, the Wildwood Consort is dedicated to the study and performance of Renaissance and Baroque music for small ensemble, including accompanied vocal works with guest soloists.

Performing will be:

  • Melanie Downie Zupan, soprano
  • Annie Harkey-Power, treble viol
  • Jan Groh, recorder
  • Beverly Stafford, baroque flute
  • Michael Wilhite, bass viol
  • Delbert Saman and Elizabeth Goodenough, harpsichord
