Even though Portland is so kid-friendly that you can bring the little ones along to almost any restaurant, sometimes you just need some purely grown-up time. And thanks to We Village, you don’t have to plan a week in advance for a babysitter. You can drop off your children (ages 2-12) in a safe and healthy environment to get work done, go shopping, enjoy a date night, or just get some time alone to recharge. There are meals from Whole Foods and educational activities, and the space is available for parties and parent-child classes. Liz Hummer, 12/10/09

According to the WeVillage rate page, hourly rates vary from $8.75 (Premier package) to $15 (non member rate). The Unlimited Nights in August is an even sweeter deal.
I'm not a parent and know nothing about the going rate for babysitters, but It doesn't seem like a rip off for a service to be more expensive for a one time use. The value is in volume. -
We about dropped over to think of spending $100 for babysitting for our night out! In addition to our dinner/movie.! This is amazing....that this childcare company would want to rip people off like this.
