The brews served at Hawthorne Hophouse are about as seasonal and local as you can get. The pub has 24 beers on tap and its frequently changing menu that includes the most micro of brews (early in November the hophouse blog described Beetje’s Belgian ale “brewed about 12 blocks away ... from a one-barrel brewing system”). The food menu is solid with mid-to upscale pub fare—think deep-fried cheese curds, beet and chevre salads, Mediterranean chicken sandwiches and gorgonzola burgers.The hophouse hosted live music and a brewer’s dinner and tasting this month, and has a beer and chocolate tasting set for December.
