Just noticed this on State Senator Avakian's website. Talked to his staff about the structure of these town halls, having never been to one. The theme is livable communities.

His staff confirmed that this would be a great opportunity to talk about the intersection of state and city issues around expanding the River District URA to include David Douglas, and to pay for a community center and school at David Douglas.

Please save the dates of Wednesday, January 9th, and Tuesday, January 15th, for town hall meetings with State Sen. Brad Avakian (D-NE Washington/NW Multnomah Counties) and Portland City Commissioner Randy Leonard. The start time is the same for both events, 7pm, but the locations are different: Jan. 9 at Friendly House in Northwest Portland, Jan. 15 at David Douglas High School in Southeast Portland. Although the theme for these town halls is livable communities, you are encouraged to ask questions about any state or local government issue. For more information, please contact Sen.
