Neighborhood Notes

I was walking back from City Hall yesterday, I'm going to have photos in November's 1st Thursday show, and happened to walk past Kenny & Zuke's. Much to my surprise I saw an "Open" sign in the window and people seated in the restaurant. As I ordered a pound of pastrami to die for, the girl behind the counter explained that this is the soft opening and asked for patience while they get things worked out. It was pretty obvious that they are still training and the deli case certainly wasn't full of products. But they are open! I bumped into co-owner Nick Zukin and he said that yes they did open early to get things in order for their official opening on the 23rd.

If you have patience stop by and have the best pastrami outside of New York. It might take a little extra time, and the service might be a bit rough around the edges but it is soooooooo worth it.
